SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – College Sports Madness announced their Southland All-Conference women's soccer team on Thursday and three University of the Incarnate Word players were named to the squad.
Katie Miller (Tyler/Home-schooled) was placed on the first team while
Sarah Parker (San Antonio/Marshall HS) and
Sydney Solomon (Schertz/Randolph HS) were named to the second team.
Miller, a senior forward, led the Cardinals with nine goals and four assists for a total of 22 points. She finished the regular season ranked third in the conference in goals scored. She was previously named Second Team All-Southland Conference by the SLC.
Solomon, a midfielder, and Parker, a defender, are both seniors. Solomon finished the season with six goals and a team-high eight assists. She tied for the conference lead in assists and finished her career with 17 goals and 13 assists. Parker started every game of her career finishing with a total of 72 starts as a central defender. She played a key role in a defense that allowed only 9.5 shots per game. Each was named to SLC Honorable Mention team earlier in the week.
The Cardinals finished the year with a 10-6-3 record, but are ineligible for postseason play until 2017.
